WLS Command Shell is the last of a second generation of programs to be released from the collection of Howard Utilities into the Android market during 2013. It provides an integrated set of remote and a local command shells (like Telnet or Putty) along with a file transfer facility (like Ftp or Sftp) and is specifically targeted at operations and technical support staff using Oracle WebLogic Server.
Although this program has been been certified with WLS 10.3.3, it can be used when connecting to any WLS domain running version 8.1 or later.
WLS Command Shell allows you, the user, to connect to the WebLogic Server domain and open up a remote operating system command shell in that domain and run any remotely supported commands, all from your mobile device,
The program also provides an extended facility by implicitly opening up a local operating system command shell thus allowing the user to run any locally supported commands on your mobile device.
Furthermore WLS Command Shell supports a number of special control commands allowing you to transfer files between the command shell and the mobile device (e.g. .get and .put), and also view and edit remote or local files (e.g. .view, .lview and .edit).
The WLS domain is connected via USB tethering, or via a wireless connection, or through the mobile network. User authentication will be required to access the domain in the usual way.
All valid operating system commands are supported, subject to certain restrictions imposed by the operating system on the use of command shells. For instance you will not be permitted to run the su or sh commands nor will you be able to run view or vi remotely, because these needs access via a tty process.
The WLS domain is connected via USB tethering, or via a wireless connection, or through the mobile network. User authentication will be required to access the domain in the usual way.
You can download the latest copy of the WLS Command Shell User Guide at http://www.howardintegrationsystems.co.uk/docs/HowardUtilitiesWLSCommandShellUserGuide.pdf
You will also need to download a copy of the WLS Android plugin onto your server, and deploy it, in order to enable the program to access the domain. This can be found at http://www.howardintegrationsystems.co.uk/products/wls-android-plugin.war
Finally you may be able to check out the WLS Command Shell features before setting up your own WebLogic domain and/or deploying the Android plugin by connecting to a demo domain (subject to licensing).
We do hope you will enjoy monitoring and supporting your WLS domains using this product from your mobile device.
